CUBA: AFTER REMOVAL FROM US TERROR LIST
Removing Cuba from the Terror List is hopefully a chance to make some real progress on lifting the embargo, on improving human rights in Cuba. Hopefully this will help judicial independence, free elections, free expression and a better standard of living. This will not happen overnight but I think we are headed in the right direction.
My last trip to Cuba in April 2015 was right after its removal from the Terror List. I was anxious to talk with the people and hear how they felt about this. They were so open and excited about what their lives will be in the future.
I hope my images show how they are living now. They have such a wonderful culture full of love, warmth, music, family, resilience and hope!
