Annapurna Base Camp Trek, April 3rd, 2017

Those who know me know how much I love to travel and immerse myself into other cultures. I think “globally” and love to reach out to people all over the world as if we were “one”.

I seek not only an adventure but an inspirational experience. Immersing oneself in another culture is life changing. I believe you see the world differently afterwards.

Trekking in the beautiful Himalayas and interacting with the people of Nepal, seeing their resilience and hope for a better life after their April 2015 disaster, is an unforgettable experience.

I personally feel a deep connection with this part of the world after my time there and have many local friends who have opened their hearts and their homes to me. I invite you to experience this connection too.

I just came off the Annapurna circuit in April 2015 when the devastating 7.8 earthquake hit. Last year I was drawn back to Nepal to see for myself how the people I met the previous year were doing.

I invited friends and family to join me as I trekked to Everest Base Camp. I had to do this trek after going to base camp years ago through Tibet. Several of my friends joined me and we had an experience of a lifetime. We all were so taken by the openness and the gentle nature of the people we met and the magnificence, history and scale of Mt. Everest.

I have decided to go back to Nepal again in the Spring of 2017 and am sending out another invitation to friends and family.

This time we will trek to Annapurna Base Camp – a spectacular journey on foot to the South Face of Annapurna. Annapurna Base Camp shows you entire mountain ranges that are magnificent, collosal, and snow-capped against the blue sky. At base camp you are intimately connected to them.

You will see uninterrupted, panoramic, and picturesque view of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Annapurna South, Tent Peak, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and Annapurna South. Their beauty is spiritual and unforgettable.

The trek goes through ethnically diversified villages and forests assorted by flora and fauna. We will explore the way upstream along the Modi Khola into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a valley surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks including the breathtaking Fishtail Peak-Machhapuchhare (6,993 m / 22,943 ft).

Experience the opportunity of watching sunrise over the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges from Poon Hill.

Malla Treks will be our outfitter. Amazing and experienced Tshering will be our head Sherpa again. We couldn’t be in better hands! It will be lodge to lodge!
